Motorsport Games (MSGM): Revenue Grew, but Profit Quality Needs Context

Motorsport Games’ second-quarter 2026 filing shows genuine top-line growth and positive operating cash flow. It also shows why the result should not be reduced to an “earnings beat”: prior-year profit included settlement-related operating income, while the company’s cash balance and working capital remained modest.

Second-quarter and half-year results

Revenue for the three months ended June 30, 2026 was $3.54 million, up 36.6% from $2.59 million. Management attributed most of the gaming increase to Le Mans Ultimate sales and RaceControl subscriptions. Gross profit was $2.90 million, an 81.8% margin.

Quarterly operating income was $638,000, down from $1.97 million a year earlier. The 2025 quarter included about $1.1 million of other operating income, primarily an insurance settlement and negotiated vendor discounts. Net income attributable to Motorsport Games was $401,000 versus $4.26 million in the prior-year quarter.

For the first six months, revenue rose 74.0% to $7.57 million. Net income was $1.19 million and operating cash flow was $2.77 million, compared with $608,000 of operating cash flow a year earlier.

Liquidity and capital allocation

At June 30, Motorsport Games held $3.95 million of cash and had $2.94 million of working capital. Cash declined by about $1.05 million during the half-year after the company spent $3.72 million on share repurchases and drew $1.2 million on a secured revolving credit line. The line permits borrowings up to $3.0 million and matures in February 2028.

Management stated that cash, operating cash generation and credit availability should fund at least one year of operations. That is management’s assessment, not a guarantee; the company also carried an accumulated deficit of $84.6 million.

What matters next

  • Continued Le Mans Ultimate and RaceControl growth without relying on settlements.
  • Conversion of accounting profit into cash after software-development spending.
  • Cash and working-capital trends following repurchases and credit-line borrowing.
  • The cost of maintaining and launching titles relative to the small revenue base.
